Your
car can have
the best performance mods possible and go like nothing else around but
it doesn't count for diddly if it still looks like the boring old Civic
your 50 year old neighbour drives. You have got to inject it with your
own crazy stile to show people what you are all about.
As stile
is a personal an individual thing we would never dream of telling you
what to do with your car. Instead we are going to tell you about the
stile items that we think are really cool.
Body
Kits
Nothing
can change the look of your car faster than a body kit. A well designed
body kit will attract attention to your car faster than flies on shit,
and it will tell people that your car is something to be rekoned with
even when it is standing still. Look out!!
The industry
leader for body kits for import cars is Wings West. They produce some
quality body kits that look OEM quality and can be ordered pre-painted
in OEM colors. Plus they offer an amazing array of different types and
stiles from subtle to totally outrageous that will satisfy anyones taste.
Go see for yourself at their website here.
Unfortunately
we can't offer you any of those great Carparts.com deals on Wings West
body kits because Carparts.com don't carry the Wings West line. We should
all go to the
Carparts
Homepage and e-mail them until they do.
If you
want a body kit with a Carparts.com discount, take a look at the Xenon
line of body kits here.
Xenon
have got a nice range of body kits as well. Their body kits tend to
be more subtle than Wings West body kits so if that suits your stile,
go for it. We really like their 6G Civic body kit, shown here. You can
see more of it here.
The complete
kits (air dam, skirts, rear valance and spoiler) start at $535.49, BEFORE
your discount, which is a really great deal. Now with your coupons
you can get that for way under $500.00.
Don't
forget to get some of the carbon fibre M3 style mirrors for your car
while you are at it. These are made by American Products Company and
only cost $81.55 for a pair from Carparts.com before you get any discounts.
Lights
If you
have ever compared the way your Civic looks to the Japanese market Civic,
you will see that somehow the Japanese market Civic always looks better.
It's the same car, so what is it that makes it look so much better?
Well the Japanese lights don't have to carry those ugly orange and red
reflectors and bright orange indicators that have to be put on to sell
the cars in the U.S. The clear lights give the car a much cleaner look,
the way the designers originally intended.
Don't
go over board though. Clear tail lights, in our opinion, look really
cheap and tacky. They make the car look like it wasn't completed.
If
you have ever driven behind a car with clear taillights you will see
that it is much harder to see the brakelights as well, even if red bulbs
are used behind the lights. Now you don't want someones grandma rear
ending your car do you?
If you
want some different looking rear lights, definitely go for the Toyota
Altezza look lights. These look really stylish and are perfectly street
legal.
American
products company (APC) can handle all of your clear light needs for
your Civic. Check out their site here.
Carparts.com carries all their stuff so you know you can't go wrong.
If you want to, you can also clear out the headlights on a 6G Civic
yourself. It is a bit difficult and takes a lot of time though. If you
want to go this route we can tell you how, so e-mail us.
Interior
The interior,
in our opinion, is where most factory stock sport compacts are a let
down. No matter how great the exterior looks, the interiors always seem
to look all drap and plasticky. Not to worry though, we've got it under
control.
To spice
up your interior you can get all kinds of great stuff. Carbon fibre
or coloured dash trims and speedometer surrounds, white face gauges,
billet shift knobs, pedal pads, seat belt pads etc. Some brands to check
out are DC Sports
for the billet shift knobs in anodized colors, Florida
Auto Trim for dash kits and APC
for just about anything else.
A
product we really like form APC is the Eurodash. The Eurodash is shown
here. It is an insert that goes over your instrument cluster and makes
your instruments look like individual high quality dials, with chrome
surrounds and everything. These are really tite.
You might
have searched Carparts.com for a Eurodash and not found it. They do
sell them though. What you need to do to find it is put in the part
number in their search box at the top left hand corner of the page.

Engine
Dress-up
As far
as we are concerend when it comes to engine dress-up the only place
to go is DC Sports for their billet aluminum accessories. They have
got the most beautifu, perfectly CNC machined and hard anodized parts,
such as plug wire covers, batttery tie downs and billet oil caps. Check-em
out here.
Imagine
if you co-ordinated the colours of these dress-up parts with your intake
and then got some coloured hoses to match, you woull be well on your
way to having a winning show car right there!!
HEY
there is a lot more you can do to infuse your car with YOUR individual
stile. What we have shown you here is just the tip of the iceberg. There
are so much custom parts available out there it is just unbelievable.
Almost anything you can think off someone has made it already. And if
it hasn't been made, then get really crazy and go make it yourself.
Now that would be really absolute.
